Dear Walnut Grove High School Families and Community Members,
It is with immense pride and enthusiasm that I extend a heartfelt welcome to each of you on behalf of the dedicated faculty and staff of Walnut Grove High School! As your principal, a role I am incredibly privileged to serve for my sixth year, I am thrilled to embark on another exciting academic journey with our students and families. This community holds a special place in my heart, not only professionally but personally, as I am the proud parent of a current senior and a daughter who graduated from WGHS in 2022.
At WGHS, our unwavering commitment is to ensure every student has a profoundly meaningful school experience, graduates on time, and is exceptionally well-prepared for their future. Our world-class educators work tirelessly to provide opportunities that not only enhance academic prowess but also foster significant growth in athletics and the arts. Our goal is clear: to equip students with a foundation that propels them towards the future they envision for themselves, delivered through relevant, purposeful, and high-quality instruction in every classroom. Beyond the school day, our students can participate in a diverse array of extracurricular activities and clubs, forging connections and enriching their overall high school experience.
Walnut Grove High School is truly a special place, and we are incredibly proud of the recognitions we've received that highlight our dedication to student success. We've been honored by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) for our outstanding AP achievement, a testament to our students' hard work and our teachers' commitment. Furthermore, the Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals (GASSP) recognized us as the High School Breakout School for the State of Georgia, acknowledging our innovative approaches and positive impact. On a personal note, I am deeply humbled and honored to have been named the 2025 Georgia Principal of the Year. These accolades reflect the collective efforts of our incredible students, dedicated staff, and supportive community.
Our world-class staff is devoted to academic excellence and guiding our graduates towards one of three paths: Enrolled, Enlisted, or Employed – what we fondly term as E3. We firmly believe that providing each graduate with at least one of these opportunities significantly enhances their chances of realizing their ultimate potential and contributes to a successful transition beyond high school.
As a parent, I can genuinely say there is no other place I would entrust with the education and well-being of my children. Daily, they are nurtured by exceptional instructors, inspired and challenged by dedicated coaches, and supported by a compassionate and caring classified staff. Walnut Grove High School is more than just a place of learning; it is a community where students learn, work, and play in an atmosphere conducive to their holistic development.
