Dear Walnut Grove High School Families and Community Members,
As we look forward to an incredible 2026-2027 school year, I am excited to welcome you to the Warrior family as your new principal. Having previously served right here as your assistant principal, I have firsthand knowledge of the dedication of our teachers, the talent of our students, and the strength of our community.
Our focus this year is captured perfectly by our new school theme: "Warriors Elevate Every Day." This theme will guide our efforts as we challenge all staff and students to reach higher, adapt to new successes, and bring their best effort to work and school everyday!
My journey in education—leading schools across Texas and Georgia, managing academics and shaping school culture—has prepared me to support Walnut Grove’s high standards of excellence. I am fully committed to building upon our solid foundation, maintaining high academic expectations, and ensuring that our campus remains a safe, supportive, and thriving environment for every student.
To ensure every single Warrior graduate is "Enrolled, Enlisted, or Employed," we have established three primary goals for this school year. First, we will drive for exceptional student achievement by maintaining a graduation rate of 90% or higher. Second, we will focus on academic rigor to strengthen content mastery for our End of Course Assessments (EOCs). Finally, because success begins with being present, we are prioritizing student attendance and engagement by ensuring students do not exceed 5 or more unexcused absences.
By refining our instructional practices and tightening our campus support systems, we will work tirelessly to help every student meet these milestones.
I am incredibly humbled to lead such a successful school, and I know that achieving these goals requires a strong partnership between home and school. Thank you for your continued trust, collaboration, and enthusiasm as we kick off this exciting new academic chapter together.
